"In December, the Polish supreme court, which is still independent, ruled that the KRS (Consejo de la Magistratura polaco) and the new disciplinary chamber were unlawfully constituted. The government responded with legislation making it illegal for any Polish judge to question the legality of its appointments – in effect, to ban Polish judges from complying with a ruling issued by their own supreme court."
